: siberian cross

i woke up this morning at it was 17 degrees out, what a fine day to attend the connecticut cyclocross state championships. i put on 5 layers of hotness, met up with jason, and headed over to the races to cheer on the lunatics. i have been bummed all week knowing i wasn't going to be able to race today due to my bum right leg. after arriving at the races my spirits lifted cause there is no way i'd want to be riding in this siberia-like weather! lolli gave 'em hell in the cat. 4 race rocking out in a milkshake costume and beating half the field. classic ghostship mayhem at its finest! doug showed up on his singlespeed 29er and gave the cat. 3/4 race a go. doug held his own for the first 2 laps, but the multispeed monsters made doug work his a$$ off. doug summed up his first cyclocross experience by saying, "i'd rather ride mountain for 10 hours than race a 45 minute cross race!" despite the bone chilling temperatures it was a fun day. lots of photos as always, click here. i'm spending the rest of the day on my couch, in comfy sweatpants and a hoodie, trying to get some warmth in my body!
